Man Son Hing Advances to Quarterfinals

Bruce Man Son Hing won two matches Friday to advance to today’s quarterfinal round of the Rolex-Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament at Irvine.

Man Son Hing, the tournament’s top-seeded player, defeated Scott Shogreen of Pepperdine, 6-2, 6-1 and Dave Steward of the University of San Diego, 6-3, 6-2.

If Man Son Hing wins his 9 a.m. quarterfinal match against Arizona State’s Andy Roediger, he will play in a semifinal match at 11:30.

The tournament final is scheduled Sunday at 10 a.m.
