The crew of an oil tanker abandoned ship in the Persian Gulf after the vessel was hit and set ablaze by an Iraqi missile, shipping sources said. The captain of the Koncar, who remained aboard with a radio officer, later reported that the fire was out and that crewmen could reboard the vessel, 80 miles from Iran’s Kharg Island oil terminal and 50 miles south of the Iranian port of Bushehr, sources said. They added that there were no casualties.
