Vice President George Bush failed to convince Iowa’s farm leaders that the Administration will find a solution to the farm credit crisis. Bush, who met with the leaders of 17 farm groups in Des Moines, said the Administration is aware of their “real agony,” although he brought no new proposals. Gov. Terry Branstad said the farm leaders demanded more stable farm policies and a bail-out of the Farm Credit System. Bush said President Reagan will soon propose a FCS bail-out but he hinted that the program will not pump any additional money into the system.
