Senior Housing Not Designed for Singles

As a senior citizen, I was very much interested in “Elderly May Prefer Small Condo Houses” (Nov. 10). Sounds great, but two questions occurred to me.

Obviously, these houses are for those who “can handle a large down payment.” What kind of housing is being planned for those of us “. . . on a limited income, mostly from Social Security”? Also, the planners seem to be thinking solely in terms of couples. Has anyone told them that a vast number of the “elderly” are single and live alone? Who is planning for us? We’ll soon be the majority!
