Yorba Linda : Boy Won’t Be Charged in Shooting of Friend
The Orange County district attorney’s office will not file criminal charges against a 14-year-old boy whose friend was shot Nov. 12 while the two were playing with a shotgun in his Yorba Linda home, Brea police said.
Although investigators have not been able to interview the victim, who remains in intensive care at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, they said the shooting apparently was an accident.
The boy, who has not been identified because of his age, picked up the gun to show to the victim, Michael Todd Tuchscher, 15, and when he placed it on a table it discharged, Detective Doug Dickerson said.
Hospital officials on Tuesday reported Tuchscher in stable but “much better” condition.
