Westwood : 15 Receive Fulbrights

Fifteen scholars from UCLA have received Fulbright awards to conduct research and lecture abroad in the next year.
This makes UCLA the leading university in the country for the second consecutive year in the number of scholars receiving Fulbright awards, officials said. UCLA was first in the nation in the number of Fulbright awards for teaching English as a second language, officials reported.
UCLA’s Fulbright scholars are Edwin L. Cooper, anatomy; Michael J. DeNiro, geochemistry; Bruce S. Dunn, materials science and engineering; Rosslyn Gaines, psychiatry and psychology; Evelyn R. Hatch, applied linguistics; Charles F. Kennel, physics; Stephanie S. Pinceti and Michael L. Storper, urban planning; Geoffrey Saxe, education, and Donald J. Ward, Germanic languages.
Winners of Fulbright awards to teach English as a second language are Tracey L. Ellis, William J. Greenberg, Robert L. Lindsey, Bryan K. Lynch and Marguerite A. Snow.
