Viewpoint / Letters : USC Fan Looks Back to the Days of McKay, Cunningham and Rae
- Share via
Ah, the good old days. 1972. USC football. Sigma Chi. Saturday night victory parties. National champions. The Trojan greats undefeated. Mike Rae at QB. Sam (Bam) Cunningham leaping over goal lines. Charles Young catching another touchdown pass. And coaching. The legend: John McKay.
But now reality. 1985. “Who” is at quarterback. “What” is in the backfield. “I Don’t Know” is playing flanker. And the coach? “I Don’t Care” . . . guess I don’t either. R.I.P. USC football.
