Domino’s Pizza Distribution Corp. has opened a $1.6-million, 45,000-square-foot commissary in Ontario that can process enough ingredients to make 42,000 pizzas a day.

Built by Breton Construction Inc., Irvine, the concrete tilt-up facility replaces a commissary in Pomona. The new facility supplies 162 Domino Pizza outlets in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Orange counties and is expected to service up to 400 stores within the next five years.

The commissary, designed by C.E.L. Ltd., Harbor City, is on a 2.77-acre site at Airport Drive and Rockefeller Avenue in the California Commerce Center. Domino’s Pizza Distribution Corp. is a wholly owned unit of Michigan-based Domino’s Pizza Inc.
