British Villages Visited

Share

Thanks to Sharon Dirlam’s Tours and Cruises column earlier this year we learned about the Villages of Great Britain. My wife and I had been to England before and this time we wanted to see more of the villages and life style of rural Britain. The villages of Great Britain trip was everything it promised to be. We saw and did everything, but we never felt rushed along.

We walked across the village green in Chiddingfold, visited the Saxon church in Bosham where it is believed King Canute is buried (and where it is said he commanded the waves to roll back). One evening our coach squeezed down narrow, winding lanes bordered with Mendip stone walls to a tiny village with a 400-year-old pub where we played skittles and mixed with the locals. The kinds of experiences memories are made of.

We always read Letters From Readers and want you to know that we highly recommend this trip to other travelers. The trip is done by Tours of Britain at 9060 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 102, Los Angeles 90069, phone (800) 634-8687.
