The Region : Scout Leader Sentenced for Molestations

Share

An East Los Angeles Boy Scout leader was given the maximum 10-year prison term for his conviction on two counts of having molested two of his young troop members. Joel Lachica, 41, who had sponsored his own troop for almost two decades, was charged with having asked his Scouts to undress as an initiation--and then photographing them and giving them enemas. In passing sentence, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William R. Pounders called Lachica “a danger to society,” and said his actions were “revolting and shocking.”
