Meows of Misery Mean Mitzi’s in the Maytag

Mitzi the cat emerged from an unplanned bath in a washing machine with only a broken claw and very wet fur, her mistress said.

“I just can’t believe she made it,” Eva Moraler of the town of Lund in southern Sweden told the regional daily Kvallsposten.

Moraler said she heard a miserable meow from the washing machine after it had been working at full speed for about 20 minutes.

After turning off the machine and retrieving most of the laundry, she found the virtually unharmed 12-week-old feline.

Veterinarian Rudolf Lundberg told Kvallsposten, “One has heard of cases like these, but I have never known an animal to survive 20 minutes in a washing machine.”
