A 22-year-old man was shot and killed when gang members opened fire from a van at a crowd of people in El Sereno, police said. Manuel Del Rio, who police said was not a known gang member, was shot in the chest while standing with about 100 people at an apartment parking lot in the 4600 block of Grey Drive. The gang members sped off, but the stolen van they were driving was later found. Police believe the incident is related to a Nov. 10 shooting in which David Sanchez Jr., 24, was killed, and four other men wounded at a party in the 5000 block of Huntington Drive.
