A Citrus Heights woman hired to register potential voters in a Democratic Party drive was arrested on suspicion of filing false documents. Sacramento Dist. Atty. John Dougherty said Cheryl Antoinette Hunt, 23, turned in 38 new voter registration cards that were forged or had the party affiliation illegally altered. Investigator Leroy Worden said half a dozen other people are also being investigated for filing several hundred false registration cards. He said the penalty for such violations could be three years in prison.
