The victim of a mid-air collision of two commuter helicopters in San Pedro has been identified as Hossein Habibi, 28, of Glendale. Habibi apparently was torn out of the helicopter by the collision and killed by the still-spinning rotor blade. His wife of three months, Stacy, 22, was among 11 others injured in the accident at the Catalina Air and Sea Terminal. Three passengers remained hospitalized. Officials of the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board inspected the wreckage but declined to speculate on the precise cause of the accident. Both helicopters involved were Bell LongRangers.
