Beverly Hills : Developer Agrees to Study

Share

Representatives of the Beth Jacob Congregation and a developer who hopes to build a shopping center on a vacant lot between the synagogue and its day school agreed Tuesday to work with city officials on terms of a study to determine the project’s impact on the neighborhood.

The agreement came after the synagogue’s representatives told the City Council that they were concerned that the project would generate noise, traffic and other problems at the site near Doheny Drive and Olympic Boulevard.

A spokesman for Schurgin Development Corp. countered by saying that the proposed shopping center would be made up of up-scale retail establishments generating relatively little traffic.
