Al’s Helen Wins Easily in Hollypark Feature

Al’s Helen drew away from six rivals on the far turn and easily won the $20,000 feature race for 2-year-old fillies Thursday at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Chris McCarron, Al’s Helen finished five lengths ahead of favored An Empress, ridden by Laffit Pincay. Fairy Godmother, ridden by Pat Valenzuela, was third, another five lengths back.

Trained by John Fulton, Al’s Helen has yet to finish out of the money in eight starts.

The winner was clocked in 1:10 1/5 for six furlongs over a fast track and paid $5.40, $2.40 and $2.80. An Empress.
