Pasadena : St. Luke Program Honored

St. Luke Hospital’s medical technology program for 1985 has been named the leading program in the country as a result of its students’ test scores on the national certification examination given by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. The competition involved 589 programs. The St. Luke students--Diana Davodi, Tim Plunkett and Jim Sakowski--are now working in medical technology. Candidates for the St. Luke program, which began in 1951, must have a bachelor’s degree before begining their one-year internship at the hospital. When they pass the certification test, they are qualified to work in any department of a clinical laboratory, including hematology, microbiology, chemistry, serology and the blood bank.
