Court Upholds University Rights

WASHINGTON —
The Supreme Court, instructing judges to be wary of overturning academic decisions, today denied a second chance to a University of Michigan medical student who flunked out.
In a 9-0 ruling, the justices said the university acted properly in refusing to allow Scott E. Ewing to take an exam a second time after he received what university officials said was the lowest score ever recorded on the test.
