Norco Approves Plan for Auto Mall

NORCO — The City Council gave final approval Wednesday night to a master plan for the city’s proposed auto mall on Hamner Avenue.
The auto mall would include up to 11 new-car dealers, who would share common landscaping, architectural standards and sign design, all with a Spanish California theme.
The council approved the master plan by a 4-0 vote, with Councilman Steve Nathan abstaining because of a potential conflict of interest. Nathan leases property for his business within the city’s redevelopment area.
In neighboring Corona, the City Council, acting as that city’s Redevelopment Agency, on Wednesday night accepted the only bid received for $4 million in bonds to buy property for its own auto mall project.
