The United States and Israel announced today that Israel has returned all the documents taken by accused spy Jonathan Pollard, a former U.S. Navy employee and that close cooperation on intelligence matters between the two governments has resumed.

The State Department also said the Israeli unit involved in the spy case had been disbanded. That unit has been identified by officials as a group of science attaches, known under the Hebrew acronym Lekem. Department spokesman Charles Redman said an investigation by a U.S. team sent to Israel to look into the Pollard matter is complete.
