Homicides in California increased slightly for the first time in four years during 1984, Atty. Gen. John Van de Kamp reported. The attorney general’s report showed the homicide rate increased 1% to 10.6 per 100,000. The report also said that between 1975 and 1984, forcible rapes increased 12%, robberies rose 18.2% and aggravated assaults increased 20.8%.
