Sophomore guard Jamie Brown came off the bench to score 16 points Saturday, and Kristy Moore added 15 to lift the UCLA women's basketball team to a 73-67 nonconference win over Notre Dame at South Bend, Ind.

Shari Biggs scored 14 points, and Dora Dome had 10 points and 9 rebounds for the Bruins, who opened up a 40-32 lead with 17:51 left in the second half and then held on despite a 22-point performance by Notre Dame forward Trena Keys.

UCLA (4-5) outrebounded the Fighting Irish, 45-33, due mostly to strong play by Dome and Susan Mead, who each had nine rebounds. Sandy Botham had 16 points, and Lynn Ebben added 14 for Notre Dame, which dropped to 4-3.
