Fifth Deserted PCP Lab Found in Kern County
Discovery of the fifth abandoned desert PCP laboratory in three months prompted Kern County sheriff’s narcotics officers to observe that drug manufacturers are making their illicit products at remote locations in the eastern part of the county, then moving on.
The abandoned PCP lab near Ridgecrest was the second found in that immediate area in two months, said Sgt. Gil Cooper. Other abandoned labs have been found in Mojave, Tehachapi and Bodfish. No suspects have been arrested. Cooper said evidence at the sites indicated that the chemicals came from Los Angeles.
