A strike by mutuel-ticket sellers at Roosevelt Raceway closed the Westbury, N.Y., harness track.

The contract between the track and Local 23292 of the Mutuel Ticket Agents Union expired at midnight Tuesday, and after a breakdown in negotiations, the ticket sellers walked out. The raceway’s meeting was to have run until Jan. 6.
