Union Reopens Talks on Warehouse Closure
After a shouting confrontation with about 150 members, Teamsters officials Saturday reopened negotiations with Alpha Beta Supermarkets as a last-ditch effort to avert the threatened closing of the market’s regional warehouse in Fullerton.
Although they had rejected Alpha Beta’s proposal for lower starting salaries for warehouse workers, leaders of Teamsters Union Local 952 in Orange reversed themselves.
A market spokesman said the first negotiating session would be Monday.
