Farm debt appeared to level off in 1985.
Preliminary figures show that farm debt leveled off and in some major categories may have declined, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported. Total farm debt was estimated at $198.9 billion at the end of 1985, the same as on Dec. 31, 1984.
