Police are investigating the slaying of a 32-year-old man whose body was found early Sunday on a street near the beach.
Authorities identified the victim as Steven Michael Land of Oceanside. He died of a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, said Chuck Bolton, a deputy San Diego County coroner. Land’s body was discovered about 4:45 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South Pacific Street, about a block east of the beach, officials said.
Police said they had no suspects in the slaying.
