La Palma : Council Votes 4 to 0 to Accept Resignation
Kenneth Tipton, who announced Dec. 23 that he was planning to step down from the City Coincil, submitted a letter of resignation Tuesday night.
The resignation was accepted on a 4-0 vote, with Tipton abstaining. It became effective at the end of the meeting.
The council can call a special election in June to fill the seat or appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of Tipton’s term, which ends in November.
Tipton, 43, had been censured by the council in early December for his conduct in a court case that stemmed from a dispute with neighbors.
