BBDO Direct Inc., the direct marketing subsidiary of BBDO International, has opened a new office at 4041 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach. Staffed with eight employees, the office was established after the firm acquired Monex International as a client. Monex, located in Irvine, deals in gold and other precious metals and, according to Holly Dodson, a BBDO spokesman, wanted an advertising firm located on the West Coast. BBDO Direct’s Newport office also handles two other accounts: Burlington Northern Air Freight and International Masters Publishers.
