Lawyer Beaten Dec. 24 Dies

SEATTLE — Charles Goldmark, the 41-year-old lawyer whose family was viciously attacked in their home on Christmas Eve, died today at Harborview Medical Center.
Goldmark’s death leaves only one son, Derek, 12, still surviving the attack that also claimed the lives of his wife and a 10-year-old son. Charges have been filed against David Lewis Rice, 27, who indicated that his motive was his belief that Goldmark was a communist and Jewish. Goldmark was active in Democratic Party politics. The family was not Jewish.
