West Hollywood : Code Enforcement to Begin

Share

The city of West Hollywood will begin a campaign to enforce its building, safety, fire, health and law enforcement codes by conducting a 48-week field survey of city businesses, beginning Wednesday.

The survey will be carried out in conjunction with the city’s interim zoning ordinance, which is expected to be in operation by the end of January.

The city has been divided into four survey sectors and it will take 12 weeks to survey each one. The survey will start in the city’s studio district, bounded on the north by Fountain Avenue, on the south by Willoughby Avenue, on the east by La Brea Avenue and on the west by Fairfax Avenue.

Inspectors from the Fire, Building and Safety, and Health Services departments and the Sheriff’s Department licensing detail will participate in the survey.

Besides checking for businesses and properties that are not in compliance with existing codes, the inspectors will verify compliance with conditional-use permits and sign ordinances.
