Burned Youth in Serious Condition
NORCO —
A youth, severely burned by a spray of hot gasoline, was listed in serious condition Monday at San Bernardino County Medical Center.
Tim Harrison, 17, of Norco was trying to start a car Saturday by pouring gasoline into its carburetor while a friend turned the ignition key, said Herb Jewell, Norco fire chief. The carburetor backfired, spaying the hot fuel over Harrison’s chest, abdomen, back and right arm.
He suffered second- and third-degree burns over 45% of his body, Jewell said.
