County to Warn Mothers-to-Be

Share

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today initiated a wide-ranging education plan to warn women of the dangers of alcohol and drug use during pregnancy and their effect on the newborn child.

The unanimous vote by the supervisors will launch a program to develop education materials and uniform hospital reporting standards. The program also will create a foster parent pool specifically trained to deal with babies exposed to drugs and alcohol abuse.
