A PacTel unit acquired a phone consulting firm.

Pacific Telesis International, a subsidiary of Pacific Telesis Group, said it was expanding its international operations with the acquisition of Teleconsult Inc., a 15-year-old telecommunications engineering and consulting firm based in Washington. Teleconsult, which has designed and built telephone systems in 40 countries, will continue to operate as an independent firm. Terms of the merger were not disclosed.
