Mayweather Wins Over Sims in Vegas
Former World Boxing ssn. champion Roger Mayweather scored a unanimous 10-round decision over North Hollywood’s Walter Sims on Wednesday night at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas.
There were no knockdowns in the lightweight event, but Sims suffered cuts over both eyes and Mayweather was cut over his right eye in the 10th round.
Mayweather, ranked 10th by the World Boxing Council and fifth by the International Boxing Federation, controlled the tempo of the fight from the start, repeatedly beating Sims to the punch.
Sims, who fights out of Ten Goose Boxing in North Hollywood, has a record of 16-3-2 with 11 knockouts. He is unranked. Mayweather’s record is 23-3.
