VHAT ACCENT?

Regarding J.W. Moore’s comments on Meryl Streep’s accent in “Out of Africa” (Movies Annex, Jan. 12):

Jealous, Mr. Moore? “It zeems you din’t tink at all” when you suggested that Meryl Streep should stop doing accents. I can’t think of any valid reason why you would want her to stop doing realistic accents.

“Streep’s a fine actress.” Yes, she is, and her accents make her performances even more believable. If you’re so bored with her accents, stick to “The Rich Little Show.” It is more your speed.
