‘Revolving-Door’ Ordinance Passed

Share

A law restricting former Santa Monica city officials and employees from private lobbying and from offering advice on matters in which they participated while in office has been enacted by the City Council.

The “revolving-door ordinance” is intended to prevent officials and employees from using confidential information gained in their position for private advantage after they leave office.

The law bars city officials from acting as paid representatives for outside groups on matters pertaining to their former jobs for six months after they leave office.
