Mike Ackerley, 38, was named defensive line coach at USC, replacing Dave Wannstedt, who recently resigned to become defensive coordinator at Miami. Ackerley was the linebacker coach at Bakersfield College last season after having spent two seasons on the staff of the Los Angeles Express.
