The U.S. Embassy introduced new security measures in its housing area because of the danger of terrorist attacks, West German authorities said Thursday.

A main street leading into the suburban housing area where most American diplomatic families live has been blocked off and barriers installed on roads leading to the American school.

The head of the Bonn municipal traffic office said the measures were introduced after last month’s terrorist attacks on the Rome and Vienna airports.
