IT’S GRAVY TRAIN FOR MIKE!

Share

Mike’s hot.

The neurotic pooch star of “Down and Out in Beverly Hills,” profiled on this very page a couple of weeks ago, has landed a series.

Together Again Productions has cast him as a regular on “KIDSONGS,” a new home-video series that features music videos for kids. In his first episode, Mike steals a magic ball and is chased by the kids to tunes like “Row Row Row Your Boat” and “Up Up and Away.”

Fifteen canines auditioned for the series but, according to producer Carol Rosenstein, Mike was a lock: “I saw the movie and we immediately tailored the script to his special abilities. He happens to be a phenomenal dog.”

(Mike landed a good notice in the Hollywood Reporter last week. Reviewer Duane Byrge said Mike added to the “hysteria.” Mike’s waiting for other reviews from the stix; the film opens Friday.)

Rosenstein won’t say how much Mike earned for the role but said, “I guess we offered more than Disney.”

Outtakes wanted a comment from Mike, but at press time he was winging his way to Gotham for a guest spot on “Good Morning America.”

(P.S. He’s staying at the Plaza.)
