Co-Founder of Ashton-Tate to Leave Board

Ashton-Tate said Monday that one of its co-founders, Hal Lashlee, will resign from its board effective this Friday.

Lashlee, 45, hasn’t been involved in day-to-day operations of the computer software producer since 1982. He will remain a consultant to Ashton-Tate for the next two years.

The Culver City company said only that he is leaving to pursue other interests. Company spokeswoman Gail Pomerantz said she didn’t know if Lashlee intends to start another company.

“We regret his decision to leave the board,” said Edward Esber Jr., Ashton-Tate’s president and chief executive. “Hal Lashlee contributed a great deal to the success of the company.”

The company’s other co-founder, George Tate, died about 18 months ago.
