Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has parted ways with Tom Collins, his agent for 10 years, to be more closely represented within the entertainment industry, Collins said Monday night.

Collins, who said Abdul-Jabbar will retain a personal office in Collins’ suite, said the move had been planned for the last six months and had been mutually agreed upon because of Collins’ limited expertise in the entertainment field.

Abdul-Jabbar will be represented by Henry Bushkin, who is the head of the Los Angeles law firm of Bushkin, Gaims, Gaines & Jonas. The firm handles Johnny Carson, among others.
