Pacific 10 Roundup : Washington Loses to Arizona, Is Outscored at Foul Line, 22-1

Sean Elliott, a 6-7 forward, scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds at Seattle Saturday as Arizona upset Washington, 70-57, ending the Huskies’ seven-game winning streak.
Washington, 13-8 overall and 7-2 in the Pacific 10 basketball standings, was led by 7-foot center Chris Welp, who scored 16 points and had a game-high 16 rebounds.
Arizona (15-6 and 6-2) made 22 free throws to one for the Huskies, who did not go to the foul line until 1:59 remained in the game.
Washington State 70, Arizona State 62--Sophomore forward Brian Quinnett scored a game-high 20 points to lead Washington State to a 70-62 victory over Arizona State at Pullman, Wash.
Guard Keith Morrison added 18 points for the Cougars, who raised their record to 11-11 overall and 4-5 in the Pac-10. Arizona State fell to 9-10 and 3-6.
Arizona State guards Steve Beck and Arthur Thomas scored 16 points apiece
Arizona State held a 41-38 lead early in the second half, but the Sun Devils buckled under Washington State’s pressing defense. The Cougars scored 10 straight points, including six off turnovers, to take a 48-41 lead.
Arizona State committed 22 turnovers.
