Australian Railways to Try Lure of Gambling

SYDNEY, Australia —
The Australian National Railways said Sunday that it plans to introduce “mini-casinos” to win passengers.
“Our occupancy levels are less than satisfactory and this is one way of making train travel more appealing,” General Manager Don Williams told reporters.
“We’re not sure yet what sort of gambling we will be allowed, but we are not looking to get into the big league.”
