Share

A Tujunga man Monday pleaded guilty in federal court in Los Angeles to buying child sex magazines through the mail from the Netherlands.

The man, David Kenneth Myers, 55, faces up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $100,000 for ordering the magazines, which depicted sex acts with minors, Joyce Karlin, assistant U. S. attorney, said.

U .S. District Judge David V. Kenyon set sentencing for April 7. Myers remained free on $5,000 bail.

A second, identical, count against Myers, buying child pornography, will be dismissed at his sentencing, Karlin said.

Myers was one of 11 people indicted in November and December after an investigation by the newly created federal Task Force on Child Pornography.

Thus far, five have pleaded guilty, Karlin said, noting that there will be “many more indictments in these cases. This is just the beginning.”
