South County : Traffic Signals Will Be Coordinated on 5 Roads

Share

The Board of Supervisors has approved a plan to coordinate traffic signals on heavily traveled roads in an unincorporated south county area.

The project, which should be completed within the year, is expected to alleviate traffic problems on El Toro Road, Lake Forest Drive, Alicia Parkway, Marguerite Parkway and Paseo de Valencia, according to Steve Hogan, manager of traffic and engineering.

The $45,920 plan to re-time about 50 traffic signals on the five major roads will be paid for by the state Department of Transportation.

It is hoped that the plan will relieve traffic congestion and lower the accident rate on the roads, Hogan said.
