Maybe the NFL Could Call on Ward Cleaver to Lecture on Conduct
Most of the solutions to the drug problem that have been presented suggest to me that management is not really interested in a long-term answer. They are looking for a quick cure and they want to impress the fans that something is being done.
It is obvious that in this nation we have the facilities and the training to assist these young people in making the transition into professional athletics. We should recognize that athletes are different and that their differences make them susceptible to the lure of drugs. The solution is expensive, but far less so than the utter waste of a life.
