Chamber Honors Councilwoman
Rancho Palos Verdes Councilwoman Jacki Bacharach has been named 1985 Citizen of the Year for community achievement by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Club.
Bacharach will be honored at the chamber’s 30th annual installation dinner on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Los Verdes Country Club. John E. Corcoran, general manager of Marineland, will be installed for a second term as chamber president.
A second-term member of the City Council, Bacharach has served twice as mayor. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and serves on transportation committees for the Southern California Assn. of Governments and the League of California Cities. Bacharach and her husband, TRW executive Robert Bacharach, have lived in the community for 17 years and have three children.
