The struggling Irvine computer-printer maker confirmed that the layoffs will be at its Camarillo plant and that it eventually will close the facility to trim expenses. The layoffs, to be completed over the next two weeks, will bring the company’s worldwide work force to 1,600, about two-thirds its size 18 months ago. The cuts come just weeks after Printronix announced a loss of $10.8 million for its third quarter, bringing total losses in the first nine months of its fiscal 1986 to $13.3 million.
