According to an industry source, MCA and Cox Enterprises are bidding jointly for the station, now owned by Gencorp. Associates said MCA’s top two executives and Cox Communications President and Chief Executive William A. Schwartz were in New York on Thursday but neither Schwartz, MCA Chairman Lew Wasserman nor MCA President Sidney J. Sheinberg could be reached for comment. Gencorp said earlier this week that it would open bids for the station today.
